Andy and I fished Lake Zumbro tonight from 4:30-7:30 and had a great outing. Things started out slow, but after we made location change the larger fish seemed to cooperate a bit more. Picked up a couple nice smallies as well as some nice crappies as it got closer to night time hours. Everything came on plastics. I  pretty much stuck with an Exude Twister on a retrieve and Andy fished the Culprit Paddle Tail under a float. We picked up a few white bass as well. For me it was the first time I caught a white bass out of Zumbro.

It was a good outing. By the end of the evening I’d say we got nearly 35 fish. The first hour or so we only boated small largies and small smallies. Next we hit a few gills near wooded structure. Nothing of much size up to this point. Then bang, Andy hit about a 13” smallie, then I hit one 15” smallie followed by Andy hitting another 15” smallie. The white bass turned on after that. Almost all smaller ones. Towards dark, the crappies stirred up the waters. We put probably 15 in the boat. They were all nice fish with the biggest going right at 11” Everything swam away happily. Good trip Andy. Thanks again!
